The White House email controversy: where have all the computers gone? (continued)
The rest of the story As of Tuesday night, the plaintiffs have responded to the White House's response. They've marched out their own IT guy, a gentleman with the unfortunately Middle Eastern-sounding name of Al Lakhani and are counter-claiming the White House. Links to their counter claim, as well as all the other documents related to this stage of the case, are at the end of this article.
This is a disturbing story because at the end of the day, as an IT guy myself, the "why" question keeps coming up. There are practices I'm seeing that none of us, if we want to keep our day jobs, would be allowed to do, even in small IT shops.
I don't like asking "Why?" I'd rather this just about the tech. But there's so many little bits and pieces about the White House IT operation that, quite honestly, don't add up right. So you gotta ask "Why?"
Where have all the emails gone? That depends on where you look.
