Six brilliant ways to get more from Outlook 2007 (continued)
You can share your Safe Senders, Blocked Senders, and other lists with family members, colleagues or another computer by selecting Export to File from any of the tabs. Enter a file name and select Save as.
Brilliant way #5: Improve Outlook's performance Because of Outlook's synchronizing with Internet Explorer 7 RSS feeds, the process can slow Outlook's performance. You can disable RSS Sync and remove all the feeds to improve performance.
To disable RSS Sync, do the following:
- Select Options from the Tools menu.
- Select the Other tab and select Advanced Options.
- Uncheck Sync RSS Feeds to the Common Feed List, and select select OK as Figure D shows.
- Select the Mail Setup tab and select Data Files.
- Select the RSS Feeds tab.
- Select the first feed.
- Press Shift and PgDn until all feeds appear highlighted.
- Select Remove and Select Yes to confirm deleting all the feeds.

Brilliant way #6: Compare calendars Outlook 2007 comes with a new feature for viewing two or more calendars side-by-side in Calendar. You can view multiple calendars by day, week or month. In the Navigation Pane, select the check box of each calendar you want to view to see them side-by-side as Figure E shows.

You can also view calendars in overlay mode. Again, go into Navigation Pane and check the calendars you want to view. Select the arrow in the calendar's tab and the calendars overlap as shown. Overlay another calendar by selecting its arrow on the tab. The items in the Calendar on the back tab appear lighter while the ones in the front tab appear darker. Remove a Calendar from Overlay by selecting its tab.
For the Week view, you can view only Monday through Friday for the week by selecting "Show work week" or display all seven days by selecting "Show full week." These appear next to the Day, Week and Month tabs. Select the Month tab to switch to Month view and you can indicate if you want to view details on the calendar. The three detail choices are as follows:
- Low: Displays events only.
- Medium: Displays events and appointments.
- High: Displays start and end time for all events and appointments.
Check the Help file on occasion and pick up a new tip to help you take advantage of Outlook's improved integration. It means less work for you and more for Outlook.
