'Deep Mail' on the White House email controversy (continued)
But the facts are clear that Blackwell did, in fact, contract out the Election Night website to GCR (who subcontracted to New Media/GovTech and SMARTech to host the election night website). The contracts and proof are all in the ePM story, and the SOS office will gladly admit this did take place.
Over on Cannonfire there was a commenter who claims to have sent email to gwb43.com that bounced and the headers had some valuable info, like an intranet IP for a rnc-bes (10.xx.xx.xx) which would imply the RNC is running a Blackberry Enterprise Server out of their IP block in VA. RNC has a block, as well as a DC/VA block for AirNet (same thing as SMARTech) so it's not clear where the "Store and Forward" emails go through which DC address and IP block. I couldn't confirm the bounced emails and never got any myself so I can't confirm the internal rnc-bes server.
In regards to Trespassers-W, Coptix was the primary DNS for all those domains, and in June of 2006, transferred 1600+ domains to smartechcorp.net as primary DNS. Really, there is no direct link from RNC to Coptix, so I'll caution you about your reference to more stuff on trespassers-w.
You should read the Sun article by CTFP which has a quote from Averbeck. The Chattanooga Times Free Press (CTFP) is now owned by Tom Griscom who is Reagan's former Communcations Director and is very friendly to SMARTech, Corker, and Coptix (who redesigned the CTFP webpage) The is a nice quote from Averbeck's wife about the early voting and how she already voted from Corker which the CTFP ran in Oct 2006.
If you want me to fact check anything, or have technical questions, I can steer you in the right direction.
My major concern (aside from the election website) is that all these emails are going through unsecured servers and it is possible Rove or others have sent classified emails or attachments through these uncontrolled, no EOP oversight servers.
(Also of interest is that an ex-GovTech employee now works as WH communications who is quoted about the gwb43 servers...) David Almacy, White House Internet and e-communications director (at http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A4686-2005Apr20.html).
Deep Mail's second letter I'm one of the researchers with ePluribus Media who has been digging up much of the same online stuff you have recently done.
Coptix still IS the secondary DNS as they used to have a physically off-site DNS server located at a Rackspace NOC. What is interesting is that in the last two weeks they have moved to 1&1 NOC for trespassers-w.net
Jeffrey Cross was mostly a one man operation, and I believe had more technical savvy and provided at least backup DNS, if not all of the DNS for the huge list of clients at ST3 (which eventually became Smartech after the bankruptcy). Cross has more recently brought on more graduates from the local Covenant College (where Cross is a graduate of) to turn Coptix into a graphics/design shop.
(Many of the early WHOIS come back to cross-cc.com Cross Computer Consulting)
