How to fix reminders that show up at the wrong time

Experiencing issues with your Outlook reminders popping-up at incorrect times? OutlookPower reader Brian Derby is experiencing such an issue with his Outlook.
Some of our users are experiencing problems with reminders in Outlook: they are not popping up at the correct time, they are coming up several hours late and I was wondering if you would be able to shed some light on this for me.
Outlook reminders depend on the server's free/busy information as well as the Outlook profile's system time to determine when to give you a reminder. Therefore, a time delay can be caused by the PC and/or server having incorrect time, the wrong time zone, or the reminders themselves and/or the free/busy information on the server could have a problem.
There are a number of things you might try.
First, of course, verify the time and time zones under Date and Time on the Control Panel on your users' systems are set correctly. Also, check the time on your server.
Run the cleanreminders fix to help resolve any corruption issues with the reminders themselves. Type this into a command prompt:
Outlook.exe /cleanreminders

Remember, you can run this from a DOS window, or by invoking the Run dialog by selecting Run from the Start menu.
Finally, try running the cleanfreebusy fix to resolve any issues with the free/busy information on the server by executing the following command line:
Outlook.exe /cleanfreebusy

And there you go. All should be better now.
